What exactly is a weld-on bullet hinge?

Weld-on bullet hinges are metal hinges that are commonly welded to metal doors and frames to create a hinged connection. A bullet hinge is a hinge for lighter applications. The weld-on bullet hinge consist of two drop-shaped profiles without side blades. The lower part (the male) contains a pin and the upper part (the female) has a hole. As a result, the upper part can be slid over the lower part and the bullet hinge hinges over the pin. A stainless steel ring between the two sections makes for smooth hinging.

The lower part is welded to a door frame and the upper part to the door. This allows the door to be hinged to the frame.
